This project was bucket loads of fun to work on. We pitched this idea to the client, Fox International Channels, to make some tactile titles for their annual Ad Sales roadshow…and they went for it! We then had to make it happen and spent quite a lot of time figuring out how to do it.

The process started with sketches on paper, then we built a 3D scale model in Cinema 4D as a proof of concept. From this model we took the vector info into Illustrator, prepped designs for laser cutting, and then built the environment out of laser-cut cardboard and perspex on a custom-made turntable. We then lit it and shot it with Dragonframe (a beautiful piece of software!).


Three different lighting passes were shot which were then composited in After Effects.


It was quite a process but well worth the steep learning curve in the end! Final video below:
